Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria

Last night we made it to Veliko Tarnovo (Bulgaria’s old capital) from Sofia by bus. Surprisingly enough the busses here offer a free Wifi-connection (so 10€ for a 3,5h ride doesn’t sound like a bad deal at all).

Gab is working hard on crafting a traditional Bulgarian mask, which according to the tradition protects from bad spirits!

The fortress of Veliko, which had initially been destroyed by the Turks when they invaded Bulgaria but which has recently been rebuilt.

Later we rented a car and went for some cliff jumping, because the heat after all that walking around was killing us. Here is Chris in midair:
