Cappadocia, Turkey II

On the secound day we set out to visit the south of Cappadocia. Thinking it would be an easy day-trip (although people had told us that we should go on a guided tour…but they must be wrong!) we set out towards a massive underground city in Derinkuyu.

This underground city included all kinds of facilities and went as far as 8 levels (55 meters) into the ground. Unfortunatly only 10% of it can be visited today.

After some smaller stops we arrived at the Ihlara Valley, which was again spiked with cave houses and cave churches.

The ride back wasn’t as pleasant (200km per day on a little scooter is hard after all). The 90km on the way back took us about 1,5 houres and we arrived freezing cold in the darkness.
