Washington DC II

The second day in DC we went to the National Portrait Gallery in the morning where they have a complete collection of portraits of all the presidents of the US up to this day. We also walked along the Washington Mall and passed by the Capitol a couple of times:

The Library of Congress, a pretty inspiring place to read and/or study:

At night we did a walking tour around Washington DC center which told us the story around the killing of President Lincoln. On the way to there we passed by the Washington Monument and the White House:


On the way back home we passed by the Pentagon and the Pentagon Memorial for those who died in the attack on the Pentagon on 9/11. Later we got stuck in a more than one hour traffic jam and got pulled over by three cop cars for leaving the petrol station without the headlights on…
